Our Retirement Essentials Training is a 12-week retirement and income planning education and training webinar series. It is designed especially for financial advisors, insurance agents, registered investment adviser (RIA) firms, and banking employees who do not hold designations which require CE, yet seek high-quality retirement education and training to help their clients make more informed retirement decisions.

Retirement and income planning has substantially changed in the last 10 years due to new research, thought leadership and training of David Blanchett, Wade Pfau, Heather Schreiber, Denise Appleby, Emily Gang, Shelley Giordano, and Robert Laura. We make these insights available to you multiple times a week, accessible at your desk, on your tablet, or on your phone.

Each course belongs to one of the three components of retirement and income planning:

  • PLAN for retirement readiness. Retirement readiness is holistic, not just financial readiness.
  • PROTECT plan from retirement risks. Retirement risks can torpedo even the best-laid plans and should be assessed before a person retires.
  • PROVIDE retirement income. Retirement income planning is more complex than accumulation planning. All resources available (timing of Social Security, Medicare, pre- and after-tax savings and strategies, human capital, etc.) should be integrated into a retirement income plan.

Topics include:

  • The true cost of retirement.
  • Retirement planning beyond the dollars and cents.
  • Social Security and Medicare.
  • Navigating the critical ages of retirement.
  • Retirement spending.
  • Retirement income and strategies.
  • Investing and lifetime income.
  • Women and housing wealth/reverse mortgages.
  • Tax planning.
  • Critical rules for moving retirement accounts.
